Cody Takes a Bath
I wonder if any of you readers out their have yet noticed something interesting about all the pictures of Cody on this web-site. I will tell you... He is wearing the same shirt in each picture. It is a nice shirt but it was on a fellow who had not bathed since I had met him and who knows how long before that. It was getting to be an issue on the bus (at least for me). I mean I had snuck some air freshener on the bus the previous day and it did not make a dent in the ... shall we say ... atmosphere.
Anyway, as a kind gesture to us all, Cody agreed to take a bath. Keith donated his hotel room and I think Brent filmed it. Anyway, that was sweet thing for him to do and I know everyone appreciated it. He did put the same clothes back on afterward ... Oh well.

When we first came to town, we noticed a hot air balloon way up in the sky and decided it would be a fun ride. Early in the day, everyone but me had gone go cart riding and we were all in the mood for adventure.
But alas, the balloon people would not take us up because of strong winds! We were all very disappointed but made the best of it.

The gig with Jimmy Kemmel had fallen through because they could not get a satellite feed in Branson so we had to decide what we wanted to do...
I was all for making tie dye tee-shirts and selling him but it was not to be...
The 60’s Show

The Musical Palace in Branson heard we were in town and invited Cody and Mr. Haynes to come see their show and dance on stage. We really had a blast.
We arrived early to get a tour and then quickly removed ourselves to the bus for “refreshments” (They did not serve Alcohol at the Musical palace). When Show time came, Terry the producer came and picked us up in a golf cart to escort us to the show.

Mr Haynes and the Producer
The show itself show is hard to describe. Think the Brady Bunch meets The Byrds. It was truly incredible.
Everyone enjoyed it. During the show, I looked over at Cody and Mr. Haynes. They were both enthralled. I was kind of in shock. It was just so... “Waiting for Guffman”. (If you have ever seen that movie, you will know what I mean.) At one point I glanced at Brent and I am sure he was thinking the same thing.
There were what seemed like hundreds of costume changes and it was highly choreographed. The performers did not miss a step or let their smiles fade for one second.
At one point, Cody and Mr. Haynes took the stage and danced in the show. Mr Haynes is a really good dancer, I was blown away.
As I was watching, I found myself wondering about the folks on the stage. How did they get there? What brought them to this crazy show in Branson, Missouri. I know there are some great stories there.
Brent felt the same. He and Brian were even planning to stay in Branson for a couple of extra days to see if they could film some of it. If the cast agreed, it would make a great reality show.
By the way, if any of you guys in the show see this, please contact me and tell me about yourselves. I will post it all here. I would love to know more.
Unfortunately, many of my pictures from that night came out fuzzy. See below for some highlights.
