Principle 36 - Learn More to Earn More (from The Success Principles)

I recently attended the “Millionaire Author Program” in Atlanta, GA given by Steve and Bill Harrison who own RTIR (Radio, T.V. Interview Report). I am not yet an author but was lucky enough to be able to attend this class with my client, B.K. Haynes. I can honestly say that those 3 days changed the whole course of my life. After attending this training, I now feel as though I have been catapulted much closer to the life of my dreams. And the whole experience reaffirms what I learned in The Success Principles, specifically principle 36 - Learn More to Earn More.

First of all, the training was a success from my client’s point of view. He was able to meet agents and publishers interested in putting out a new edition of his book,

Secondly, I learned many many ways that I can help Mr. Haynes be successful in marketing his books. These are techniques that I can use later on my own behalf. We learned from many successful authors both traditionally published and self-published who shared their secrets with us. There were also information marketers of all types who dispensed wisdom and tips at a rate that boggles the mind. There is no way I can retain it all.

Most important were the other attendees, authors and writers that I met and learned from.

One author, Lisa Tenor, (with her partner, Jen Senecal), is writing a “How to” book on How to Write your “How to” book in 60 days. Guess what... She is letting me test drive her program to see how it works! I am currently finishing up my first chapter (working title Stress and the Single Mom, A guide to Raising Great Kids without Going Crazy). Her book is going to be great! It has already helped me tremendously. With her guidance I am writing a book that people are actually going to want to read!

So what is the point of this article? Well when Mr. Haynes sprung this trip on me at the last moment, it was rather inconvenient. I had just started a household painting project. I had to dump my son unexpectedly on my two best friends and I did not have time to take care of some personal business before I left. It was just bad timing. But... thank god I went! Otherwise I would not have a book by the end of September and would not have a clue about how to go about marketing it if I did.

SO the point is that sometimes when we make room for learning, we get much more than we thought we would. Sometimes a little seminar can change our lives!!!
