Last night (10/10/05) at about 8:15 P.M. B. Haynes and Cody met for the first time. At first it was very low key meeting. Cody came in with his brother Sam, Michele (Sam’s wife) and their 3 adorable children. We all shook hands. (Keith Coffman, Brent Meeske and I were also present.) Cody presented Mr. Haynes with a tie-dyed tee shirt. And we sat down to dinner. The conversation was polite and subdued. Soon the bourbon began to flow and Mr. Haynes and Cody started exchanging views on politics, religion, and current events. Everyone at the table started to loosen up and we all started to have some fun. SamAt one point, (I can’t remember exactly what the subject was but Cody was talking), I looked over at Sam and he had the oddest smile on his face. I asked him about it and he said, “He’s your problem now,” and laughed.Cody agreed to take Mr. Haynes to the place in Arkansas that was the White Water property that caused all the uproar during the Clinton administration. But other than that, Cody refused to give out any more information about the trip. He did say that he planned to drive all night and only needed two hours of sleep. Hum...Before long Cody announced that he was going to run for president. I asked him if maybe he wanted to start out with something smaller like city councilman but he said “No, he was going to get a “B*!*” job in the White House. Hum...Before long it was time for the restaurant to close and we agreed that in the morning we would caravan to Wheels RV in Tontitown, Arkansas for the send off. After the Lands left and we were still sitting in the restaurant. Mr. Haynes told us how impressed he was by Cody and that while he seemed a little odd, he was certainly not crazy... Hum...Soon Cody came back in and announced that while we were eating dinner, Sam’s Car was Stolen!!!!!!WhenI went to bed, Sam was still talking to police. FInd out about the whole ordeal on www.leaderguy.com. I want to say that Sam handled the whole thing with grace and dignity. He never lost his cool for one second but Geez! What a way to end the evening!More later.....
